ASP Europe Specialty Nike 6.0 Cash for Tricks Releases Invitation List for Anglet Event
CAPBRETON, France - The 6.0 Cash for Tricks Series, an ASP Europe Specialty Event taking place this summer, is back in motion as Stop No. 2 of 4 is now set for another day of spectacular action scheduled to take place in Anglet between August 10 and 12, the exact date depending on the best swell window.
After a successful start in Seignosse and a first intense battle of progressive surfing which saw reigning ASP European Champion Joan Duru (Ondres, FRA) claim the crown for his return to competition, Anglet is ready to host part 2 of this new format of events.
“It’s good to get things rolling again and we are all looking forward to watching these exceptional surfers deliver their best surfing for Stop No. 2 in Anglet,” Event Manager Andy Higgins said. “This event will have another pool of amazing talents including Charlie Martin, Naum Idlefonse and Nico Von Rupp, Willy Aliotti, amongst others.”
Taking place in the middle of Europe’s most intense surf action moment, the 6.0 Cash for Tricks will once again witness some much expected exchanges of air reverses, fins-out top turns and possibly futuristic back-flip moves, the series’ concept being made to push the boundaries of competitive surfing towards its most spectacular side.
“As current ASP World No. 1 Jordy Smith recently showed at J-Bay, world class competitive surfing has already moved towards this kind of progressive style and we’re stoked to partner-up with Nike 6.0 on this new concept of event,” ASP Europe regional manager Greg Puget said.
Based on a simple concept where cash is given for any of a heat’s best three tricks, the 6.0 Cash for Tricks has already seen former ASP elite member Tim Boal (Anglet, FRA) and current ASP European Junior ratings’ No. 2 Tom Cloarec (Hossegor, FRA) unleash their best flying skills to break the limits of usual classic surf moves.
“It was a great event in Seignosse and I was stoked to finish in the top 3,” Cloarec said. “It’s so fun to just focus on airs and give our all towards progressive performance surfing so I can’t wait to see how things go in Anglet. It’s a different atmosphere but still a competitive format and you want to pull out your best trick.”
From ASP European junior and Star Series members to local uprising talented surfers, Stop 2 of the 6.0 Cash for Tricks in Anglet is ready for action.
