Capsize in Transat Jaques Vabre

Actual, the new trimaran of Yves le Blevec and co-skipper Jean Le Cam is reported to have capsized in a position approximately 22 miles north of Cherbourg around 1645hrs GMT 8.11.09.

Reported to have been making around 20 knots of boat speed in approximately 23 knots of wind, the boat is reported to have pitch-poled.

The two co-skippers were reported to be safe,  inside the boat. They requested help but did not issue a Mayday.

Update 1430 CET 9.11.09

Yves Le Blévec has just been brought ashore. Slightly wounding his hand during the capsize, the skipper of Actual is receiving medical attention. Jean Le Cam is still on the boat near the platform. The mast has now been cleared and will be brought to to port by a motor boat. The vessel is waiting to be towed to port at a later stage.
