The Billabong Pro tahiti 2009

The annual Billabong Pro Tahiti presented by Air Tahiti Nui is set to return to the famed reef-break of Teahupoo from May 09th to the 20th 2009.

The Billabong Pro Tahiti is the 3rd of 10 events on the ASP* World Tour and is the first of four events organised by Billabong.

Teahupoo, a left breaking wave that can hold up to a massive 15 feet is generated out of deep water and unloads over shallow reef offering one of the most visually impressive waves in the world.

The worlds top 45 surfers along with 3 event wildcards will battle it out for valuable rating points and a share of the 340,000 USD prize money on offer.

The Billabong Pro Tahiti can be viewed every day LIVE and free on www.billabongpro.com See the live action with many camera angles, tune into the several different languages and catch up with the pro’s directly after their heats.
