In his first podcast of the new year, Poland’s Jakob Kowmowski has announced that he’ll be off the water for the next two months after sustaining an injury during a training session.

21 year old Kosmowski, who finished the 2008 PWA freestyle season in 19th position, has fractured a bone in his left hand during winter training in Cape Town.

“I went out on my 4.5m, it was all good. But then the wind picked up and it got really gusty. I was going for a no-handed flaka; everything was ok, I took off, threw the sail, then this massive gust came and the sail just snapped down into the water. I fell with all the pressure on my hand and broke the bone.”

Luckily for Kosmowski, it looks like his injury won’t interfere with any of 2009’s PWA events. Our commiserations, and we wish Jakub a speedy recovery.
