At 1650hrs (GMT), while Anne Caseneuve’s trimaran was sailing eight and a half miles off Brignogan on the northern coast of Finistère in Brittany, the boat was dismasted in a 15-20 knot southerly wind. Anne Caseneuve wants to reassure her friends and family that the crew is fine and no one was injured in the incident.
Anne Caseneuve immediately informed the coastguards at CROSS Corsen in Brittany and requested the help of a tug. A lifeboat from the island of Batz near Roscoff was dispatched and should reach the boat at around 2000 hrs GMT. The wind in the area is still blowing from the south with a two metre swell.
