A win for Emirates Team New Zealand, their fourth from seven starts, sees the Audi MedCup Champions take the overall lead of the Portugal Trophy.
Emirates Team New Zealand (NZL) won their third race of the season when they lead around each mark of the seventh windward-leeward of the Portugal Trophy, Cascais.
They were close with TeamOrigin (GBR), jousting for advantage up the first windward leg but the Kiwi champions managed to get ahead before the turn.
TeamOrigin (GBR) dropped when they took a penalty turns for an incident near the top of the second upwind leg, an expensive error, but they fought back to seventh.
Artemis (SWE) the 2007 champions took second place with Synergy (RUS) third.
GP42 Series defending champions, Puerto Calero (ESP), won the second race of the day to consolidate their leadership. The GP42 fleet will complete their third race of the day.
