With U2's 'Elevation' belting out - the team theme song - Green Dragon is being treated to a hero's welcome here in Qingdao. And as soon as the song ends, the 500 drummers begin drumming as the crew comes off the boat, and walks up the pontoon towards the stage for the prize-giving ceremony.
It's a raucous welcome, a well-deserved reception for a team that truly battled to get here.

As Michel Desjoyeaux hurtles across the finish line in Les Sables d'Olonnes this weekend, Dee Caffari will be popping the corks on Aviva to celebrate her return to the North Atlantic.
On her 80th day at sea, Dee is just 720 miles away from the Equator which she will cross just as ‘Le Professor' takes his second Vendee Globe title in nine years.

Not great news for us, 4 hours after I had been in the bow checking for any signs of damage from slamming we had the big bang. The bulkhead back from the water tight bulkhead, cracked in 3 places, the cracks went from the hull through to the inside of the bulkhead and in all but one through the capping. Hello everyone!
I am writing this as a little squall is passing over Roxy and we are going upwind on starboard. Yesterday was pretty full-on, as I am sailing Roxy at the top of the wind range for the solent. This is perfect sailing, except the fact that all of yesterday morning I had squalls that were shifting the wind quite considerably. This meant I was easing the sails in the gusts as we were being lifted onto a tight reach.
